KOO Family Hike – The Community Garden

Community Garden

Your family is invited to a winter fun at the Otsego Conservation District Community Garden & Demonstration Forest, Gaylord MI. Join KOO and District Education Specialist Kelly Draeger for the morning.

We will:
– Hike and explore the trails, doing kid distances and taking time to explore. These are mixed woods, easy trails, with LOTS for a young explorer to find.
– Do a couple of winter make-it projects.
– Enjoy a hand-warming bonfire, hot cider, and chocolate.

Snowshoes and sleds for pulling kids on the trail will be available (first come first serve) OR bring your own.
The garden’s indoor classroom and restrooms will be open.

As usual with KOO:
– Our focus is children birth to eight with their Parents/ Caregivers. Other family welcome too! For this event, all ages of kids are invited!
– Parents, you are with your children at all times.
– Come and go as you wish. OK to come later and leave earlier.
– Free of charge.
– We’re outside much of the morning, so dress for the weather.

Directions: Address is 459 Livingston Blvd, Gaylord.
From the roundabout on North Center Street (Old 27 North), turn east onto Livingston Blvd. Follow the Community Garden and KOO signs.

Organized by ‘Kids Outdoors Otsego’ (KOO), in partnership with the Otsego County Conservation District.
